Ideation and Creation
Logan Mourek
My design process usually begins with an initial sketch that captures the core idea for the garment. From there, I move into patternmaking, most often working by hand with pencil and paper to develop the structure and proportions. For more complex concepts, I use CLO 3D to quickly visualize how the garment will fit and move in three dimensions. Once the design is finalized, I create a technical flat to clearly communicate construction details for production. I then sew a sample, constructing it to the same level of quality and craftsmanship that I would expect in mass-scale production.
